Visit to Louisenlund Boarding School Foundation
With the start of the Ntare Louisenlund School in Rwanda in summer 2024, the Louisenlund Foundation is launching a special educational initiative. A few days ago, the Ambassador of Rwanda, H. E. Igor CESAR, and First Secretary, Gildas Mukunde, visited the boarding school in Louisenlund. The aim was not only to discuss the upcoming start of school with Head of Administration Jens-Arne Buttkereit and Damien Vassallo, who runs the Ntare Louisenlund School, but also to visit the two teachers and five pupils from Rwanda currently living in Louisenlund and exchange ideas.
The reason for this was to commemorate the unimaginable genocide 30 years ago, which claimed the lives of over 800,000 people in just a few days, H. E. Igor CESAR talked to his compatriots from the East African country about this tragic day of remembrance, which they were unable to attend in person far away from their families. Although the youth did not experience the genocide, H. E. Igor CESAR and Gildas Mukunde's visit' aim brought encouragement of great importance at a time when Rwanda is in mourning.
